The Role
We are seeking a Staff Robotics Engineer to bring next-generation robotics algorithms and Vision-Language-Action models to production manufacturing environments. This role is for someone who is scrappy and willing to move quickly and iterate rapidly while keeping long-term design goals in mind.
Salary $200,000 – $275,000
Equity Meaningful equity stake in an early-stage company
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy robotic systems integrating hardware components with sophisticated software control algorithms.
- Lead technical architecture decisions for robotics platforms, including mechanical design, electronics integration, and software frameworks.
- Support sensor fusion and latency improvement efforts.
- Own the sim-to-real pipeline of our robotics algorithms.
- Develop and implement control systems, inverse kinematics algorithms, and safety algorithms.
- Prototype and test robotic systems in real-world environments, iterating based on performance data.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in robotics development, with demonstrated expertise in both hardware and software integration.
- Strong proficiency in robotics frameworks (ROS/ROS2) and programming languages (C++, Python).
- Experience with sensor fusion, computer vision, SLAM, or motion planning algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and production-grade hardware development.
- Proven track record of shipping robotic products or systems from concept to deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and edge computing.
- Familiarity with GPU performance optimization.
- Experience with AI/ML applications in robotics, including deep learning for perception and control.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, CAD tools, and design for manufacturing principles.
Location
This position is in-person in New York City. We are not hiring remotely at this time.
